This project is divided in different parts. The first part has started in spring 2017 with the preparation of a qualitative research study. The short-term goal is gaining qualitative insights on the influence of the socioeconomic situation to education and the attitude of the people in Jvari/Tsalenjikha toward non-academic education.
In the medium- and long-term, our organization aims to enhance the employability of young people, by various methods:
- by training them in foreign languages, finance, project management, communication, leadership etc.;
- by offering seminars for teachers, developing school materials and teaching modules in cooperation with the local teachers. The teachers shall be enabled to discuss these topics with their students and offer teaching modules e.g. in how to write an application, how to plan the educational career etc.
- by establishing an information desk where students have easy access to information about different professions or ways of educations;
- by raising knowledge of different forms of education, raising awareness of the potential benefit of a dual education system, raising interest in topics of good school, university as well as professional education;
- by organizing mentorships between school students and elder professionals;
- by organizing short internships in companies and organizations for school students;
- by organizing exchanges for Georgian vocational teachers to Germany or Switzerland;
- by attracting professionals from Switzerland/Germany who can teach on the vocational college in Jvari for several months, e.g. carpenters, electricians, engineers, nurses, IT-specialists etc.
- by introducing the dual education system in the region of Jvari, in cooperation with the vocational college, the schools, the municipality, different organizations and companies.
